Brian Prousky (Executive Director), Max Eisen (Keynote Speaker) & Sharon List (Vice President) |
On September 27th, over 120 people joined Jewish Family & Child’s Board of Directors at the Annual General Meeting for their final meeting of the 2017/2018 year. New members Jonathan Seliger, Martine Taylor & Jordan Wagman were welcomed to the new Board of Directors while we extended our sincere appreciation to those completing their terms: Jodi Kaiman, Janice Winocur and Paula Zivot.
After attending to the necessary business of the AGM, our keynote speaker was Holocaust survivor and author of the book By Chance Alone, Max Eisen. Max shared his touching life story with attendees, highlighting the important role JF&CS and other social service agencies played in his young-adult life. After his emotional story, Max concluded with the message that antisemitism still exists and that it is our responsibility as a community to continue our fight against hatred.
Executive Director, Brian Prousky, shared a client story with the audience that encapsulated the spirit of JF&CS. Milestones were celebrated as staff members Annette Kurtz (40 years), Jo-Anne Raso (40 years), Lesley Sandler (25 years), and Heather Shimkovitz (25 years) received honours for their years of service to the agency.
We are happy to share with you the link to Steve Stein’s video message, as he was unfortunately unable to attend. Click here to watch.
